BMS u029 - Maximum battery charge level reduced

There are many reasons why your tesla would get this error but first of all what does tesla service center usually do in response to this error message. Tesla usually would advise you that your High Voltage Battery pack needs to be replaced. Currently, tesla service centers do not repair HV battery packs. Most customers that own a tesla model S or X would be expected to pay $15,000 to $25,0000 for a new or remanufactured battery pack from tesla. The HV battery and the drive unit are the 2 most expensive parts to replace on an electric vehicle.
Here at The EV Reviver, we focus on repairing first then replacing if a part can not be fixed. The BMS_u029 could mean that your battery management system (BMS) has detected an issue in the HV system and as an result the BMS will limit (reduce) the maximum amount the vehicle can charge. As an result, the vehicle will stop charge at a certain level for example the vehicle will not charge past 50%. We have had some client that could not charge past 26 miles of range.
We recommend that you get your vehicle diagnosed as soon as possible. This error could mean you need a HV battery repair.
